♥♥♥.
Okay, I have a new girlfriend. ...unless this keytar is a guy. I haven't officially named it yet, so I don't know. But oh my sweet word. It's midi out, so I have every midi sound ever, plus the power to split the keyboard in half or mix sounds together. Awesome? Completely. But HERE'S the BEST PART. Ready for this? Okay, you see that gray piece at the end? The thing I have my left-hand fingers on? The black part is a button that makes a wahwahwah sound...but the GRAY part! Oh man, the gray part. One might say it has some sort of sensors in it, or perhaps it's just very touch-sensitive, but I personally think it's just magical. The slightest touch of a finger, sliding up and/or down that gray piece will change the pitch up and down, like a whammy bar or something, so you can make it go "Weeeee-oooooo-eeeeee-ooooo-eeooeeooeeeooooo" and it's SO MUCH FUN!! I almost jumped up and down, and squealed like a little girl when I finally figured that out.
Oh yeah, and I took it into Hastings with me and I was walking around with it. The lady at the register was like, "ummm...what is that you're wearing?"
It's so great.
Seriously. I'm in love.

Only midi out? No 1/4" outputs? Then no rawking sho'z?
Besides, that's a sick headthing you've got XD
That is SO amazing.
You need to come up with a good name for her, liiiiiiiiiiike.... Ezmerelda, or Cleodolinda, or Cordelia, OR Stephania.
Or Steve.
Well, I guess it all depends on whether the keytar is a girl or a guy....
If it was a guy, Steve would be pretty cool.
Yeah, it's only a midi controller, it doesn't produce its own sound, so I'll have to go through a keyboard or something that will turn midi into amp.
Yis, I'm sure there's like some kind of thing you can run it through to give it a goodiness, then output to an amp.
Maybe I'll get Midi-USB and go from a laptop to an amp, heh. Then I wouldn't have to lug my keyboard everywhere
...however! Play keyboard on one hand while playing keytar behind the back with the other hand is pretty sweet.

I'm nearly sure that going from your keytar to a laptop to an amp is the tackiest way to get sound out of anything. I swear.
suh-weet!!!
I do things the ghetto way. XD
That is tighter than spacepants.
...wait, did I just say that?
That is so freaking sweet. How I found your blog, too, by the way (searching for keytar :))
So -- I followed your lead and bought an AX. I can't WAIT for it to get here! I hope it's as awesome as you say it is:D!
By the way, you should totally name yours. Mine is named Jessica, through a bizarre set of circumstances. I was attempting to keep her a secret, but my girlfriend kept asking why I was so happy...and somehow she came up with the notion that her friend Jessica had, uh, spent the night with me and that's why I was so happy. Not quite, but my AX is named jessica now:D
*laughs* Jessica (the soon-to-be-mine keytar) does indeed have gorgeous skin, luscious curves, and a beautiful voice.
