I try to be healthier. Then my tooth breaks... Then we end up with three big containers of fancy chocolate and a box of donuts for the front desk people or whoever to eat. So they're readily available for me all night long for a week. *sigh*

Artist: Oh, Sleeper
Album: Son of The Morning
Song: A Banquet For Traitors

Again, I wake to you...
Stand up, these feet are so far from clean.
I'm undeserving of the strength in your arms used to save me.
But years passed when I saw Eve next to me, she's wrapped in low-cut, dripping sensuality.
I remember the host, but it's been so long since we spoke.
He said, "My son, you can hold perfection in your arms if you wish." but I sit at a banquet for traitors
placed here between a thief and a liar.
"Just run and hold perfection in your arms as I slip..." but I'll make you the god of a liar cause I've been both a saint and a viper.
I'll make you the god of a liar.
I am a lie, just like these traitors that cry for forgiving replies but keep their grips held tight.
Though my eye's on Eve you're ready to bleed as if I'm royalty but I am no king. I am no king.
His life spilled like a tide so divine.
It was a blood soaked feast that never ceased as his veins dripped empty.
With such violent grace, the waves hit my face and in painful clarity I turned fearfully...
"What makes you think you can deserve me?
WHAT MAKES YOU THINK YOU CAN DESERVE ME?"
My host fell to His knees as paling lips pushed His plea...
"My son, you can hold perfection in your arms if you wish." but I sit at a banquet for traitors, placed here between a thief and a liar.
"Just run and hold perfection in your arms as I slip..." but I'll make you the god of a liar cause I've been both a saint and a viper.
By grace uneven, at the banquet portrayed, through death, this life is saved.
But I am no king! I am no...
"Open your eyes, child, your sea is changing."

My mom said that tonight at the café an alarm was going off outside, so she went to investigate and it was the building next door. She said as she walked out and looked, she saw a teenage kid jumping off the building's overhang and scrambling frantically to get on his bike and get out of there, and mom decided to scare him so she start chasing him and saying, "Hey! Hey you!" and the kid was like, "I didn't do anything, I didn't do anything!" as he peddled away as fast as he could. Then she said some other teenagers came around the corner in a car a few moments later as the alarm continued to sound, and one leaned out the window and was like, "Man, that's annoying!" and mom yelled, "You're annoying!"

I have the best mom.

I'm a Subway guy now, I went from making sandwiches with a bunch of girls and one other guy to making sandwiches with a bunch of girls and one other guy. But now I just have to wear a hat. If you work at Subway, they expect you to go through hours of online tutorials without paying you (as far as I know) and then they train you again when you come in. So if you're considering getting a job there, be forewarned of that. I don't think there's much they can do or say if you don't do the online stuff though. People are supposed to get paid for their training after all.

Fairy Tales are so bizarre!

The Battle of the Birds_________________

A king's son set out to see a battle, where every animal fought; he promised to bring back to his father the news of who would be the king of the animals that year. He arrived when the fight was almost over, but a snake and a raven still fought. He cut off the head of the snake. The raven, in gratitude, flew him to a castle where his sister lived, and the prince spent the night there. The raven then flew to another castle, where he also spent the night, but the next morning he met a handsome youth, who had been the enchanted raven. The youth gave him a bundle and warned him not to open it until he was in the place where he most wanted to be.

When he was nearing his father's house, he opened the bundle. A great castle sprang up, and an irate giant demanded to know why he had put it there. It offered to put it back if the prince gave him his first son, when he reached seven years of age. Then the prince went out, and opened the bundle near his father's lands. He went into the castle, and found a pretty maid who was willing to be his wife. They had a son, and seven years later, they tried to put off the giant with the cook's son, and the butcher's son, but finally had to yield their own.

The giant raised him. One day, he heard music and found the giant's daughter. She told him the next day the giant would ask him to marry one of her two older sisters, but she wanted him to insist on her, because she did not like the bridegroom he wanted for her.

The prince asked, but the annoyed giant demanded that he clean out the byre, or he would not get his youngest but be killed. He started to clean. The daughter came by at noon, and the prince fell asleep, but the byre were clean when he woke. The giant knew he did not clean it, but set him to thatch it with birds' down. The prince tried to hunt the birds. At noon, the daughter put him to sleep again, and the roofs were thatched with feathers when he woke. The giant knew he had not done it, and set him to fetch down a bird's nest. He tried to climb it and got no more than half way. The daughter built him a ladder of her fingers, and when he got it down, she left her little finger in the tree.

She told him that the giant would ask him to pick her out from her sisters, and the only mark would be that she was missing her finger. The wedding was held and celebrated, and the prince picked out his bride from her sisters. The giant told them to go to rest. The daughter told her husband that they had to flee at once, and they took a gray filly. She left behind slices of apples that answered the giant. Only when the last one had spoken did he realize that they had fled. He gave chase. When the giant nearly caught them, the daughter had the prince take a twig from the filly's ear and throw it behind them: it became a forest. The giant got through it, and they threw a pebble that became a mountain. The giant got through it, and they threw a flask of water that became a wave and drowned him.

The daughter forbade him to let anyone or thing in his father's house kiss him, or he would forget her, but a greyhound leaped up to kiss him, and he forgot the daughter. She stayed in a tree by a well. A shoemaker's wife and daughter, going to fetch water, both thought her shadow was theirs, and thought themselves too beautiful to fetch water. The shoemaker went himself, saw her, and persuaded her to come down.

When she stayed his house, some young men tried to woo her, but she made them stick to the latch so they could not approach her. The shoemaker was making shoes for the king's son, who was to marry, and the daughter persuaded him to take her. She conjured up a silver and a gold pigeon, and grains. The silver pigeon ate them, and the golden pigeon taxed him with what the giant's daughter had done for the prince. At that the prince knew her, and married her a second time.

It is time. If we don't set the styles for this new decade, somebody else will. Then if you want to fit in with the cool people, you'll have to conform! You don't want that now, do you? That's why we have to decide what's going to happen before somebody else does.

Get ready for the 2010 decade!

On Saturday, while we were busy, I put the chili in the microwave and forgot to cover it so it exploded everywhere. Then I flipped a bowl with one hand and it broke on the floor. This was after mom and Megan had spilled stuff, so mom mentioned that things kept happening that day. Right at that moment I looked down and realized I had just put the Chicken Salad mix on the Philly Cheese Steak bun. Then my water spilled all over the prep counter.

It just wasn't my day.

Dear Pride,

You and I have seen a lot of years together
As you know, I have such strong feelings for you
You make my heavy load a bag of feathers
You always seem to know just what I want to do

But things are changing now and we cannot go on
Your temporary fixes have been weighing me down
Every single road you lead me ends up so wrong
You run me off the path and crash us into the ground

You know how much I love you, it hurts to let you go
But I really must consider what is best for myself
Your mansion is so very beautiful, I know
But there’s more to consider in life than your wealth…

If you have any questions about our parting ways
You can find me with Humility, a friend with whom I’m staying
We’re in a modest little home, in which he often prays
So if you come by, please wait and don’t interrupt our praying.

I know this really hurts, please forgive me for this letter
Forgive me for your broken heart and turning away
But I honestly believe that all of this is for the better
I’m sure there are many other people with whom you can stay

And so this is goodbye, now let’s go our separate ways
It’s best you do not visit me or contact me at all
I must ask that we forget each other every time I pray
So please be kind and stay on your own side of the wall

Okay, I’m really going now, these are my parting words
Don’t think of me, I’ll be just fine, and even if I cry
I have new friends to comfort me, and help me to move onwards
So this is it, I’ll take my leave, and say no more—goodbye.

Sincerely, Brian

I love searching for jobs! It's so invigorating! Just kidding. Maybe I'll draw a picture of some samurai today.

So, here in Moses Lake, we've had people shooting out store windows with a BB gun around town. Last June, there had been about 100 shot out, I think, so by now there have probably been up to a thousand or more. Needless to say, the town is quite riled up about the whole thing, and the police are fed up with it as well. They held a meeting a couple days ago, and shared some of their info and plans. They said the shooters are suspected to be somewhere between 16-19 years old, not little teenagers or gangs. They apparently have spies on all the gangs, and teenagers can't keep secrets this long, so had it been one of those, they would have caught them by now. Furthermore, they have assigned people on the lookout, undercover, and they have officers posted at strategic spots, staking out places that get shot on a regular basis. The whole thing would be quite humorous if it wasn't so offensive and inconsiderate. Humorous because they can't seem to catch them, and it's been like a year or more now. If you look at it from the bad guy's perspective, it might be kind of thrilling to be the town shooter, always evading the cops.

...not that I advocate what they're doing or anything...

And now it's time for a song!

This is one I wrote. I apologize for the lack of decent sound quality.

Verse 1:
Hundreds of feet of concrete beneath our feet
As we walk across to the other side
Such a barrier, parting the river
Damming up the water as it stands with pride
We walk
Hand in hand, just her and I
With the sounds of the water like cannon fodder
Crashing below as we walk so high
We lean against the rail, just her and I
She said,
"Let's fall, let's descend to the water below
With this wall between us as we feel time slow!"
I asked why, she said it was something that she needed to do....

Chorus:
She said, "Let's feel the wind against our faces
And plunge to our seperate places
When the water rushes through, dear, I'll meet you
And hold you on the other side

Let's feel the wind against our faces
And plunge into our seperate places
So just say goodbye, and imagine you can fly..."

Verse 2:
One embrace and a single kiss goodbye
We step over the ledge and begin to fly
Such a barrier, between her and I
I feel the wind and begin to cry
We fall
So long and I feel so alone
With the sounds of the water like cannon fodder
Crashing below as I wipe my eyes
Such a lonely abyss and I wondered why
She said,
"Let's fall, let's descend to the water below
With this wall between us as we feel time slow!"
I'd asked why; she said it was something that she needed to do....

Chorus:
She said, "Let's feel the wind against our faces
And plunge into our seperate places
When the water rushes through, dear, I'll meet you
And hold you on the other side

Let's feel the wind against our faces
And plunge into our seperate places
So just say goodbye, and imagine you can fly..."

So I felt the wind against my face
As all my emotions interlaced
All the joy of the freedom I felt
Mingled with the pain this fall had dealt
And I
Closed my eyes, and as my tears began to dry
I imagined I could fly...!

I wish Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton had done more together. I watched Limelight last night, but they only had one scene together, and while it was pretty funny, they were both rather old and the stunts they could do were limited. It would've been better if they had done a whole film together in their younger years. Oh whale.

There are things in my flickr account now.

I had a weird dream about being in a Wal-Mart, which turned into a hospital, and I got stuck in an elevator that crashed, so I went through the ceiling into a large room, and I had to bust out like prison, and I turned into a flying person, and there were these bad guys shooting shotguns at other flying people, so I pushed one dude's gun aside so he'd miss, but it hit a baby and deformed its face, and I don't know...it was messed up.
Alright, you crazy kats, I finished my colored pencil art project!

Costume concept art for the final project.

I remember back when I was a young lad, we used to go to the Meiners' house every New Years, and it would be a special event because I'd get to stay up past midnight. Nowadays, I stay up past midnight every single night. Maybe I should go to bed at 10:00 tonight for New Years, so it'll be a special occasion again.

Saturday, December 19, 2009

So I'm working on this $500.00 drawing for my brother. Strictly school money, so I won't be buying myself any amazing badazing toys. Anyway, it's in colored pencil, with which I am only scarcely experienced, and I've come to find that colored pencils are certainly an exercise in patience if nothing else! Man. If you try to do anything quickly with a colored pencil, it looks amateurish and sloppy. The whole layering and smoothing thing takes so long but it's the only way to make the medium look professional and not like 5th grade work.

...and then there are blasted hosers like this who make me feel unworthy of even holding a colored pencil in my hand.

I decided to make an interpretation for Becoming The Archetype's "Dichotomy."
(Click here and listen to it as you read the lyrics.)

"Dichotomy"
---------------------------------------
You're not sour!
That hour! Shuffle!
Yeeaaah!
Your neck shall lay by Rick, shut your eyes
This funeral's back, "You're late, sons!"
We stood about their walls to make life's idle calculations!
My sober walnut shot
We attacked them from the lines
Close the doorway of the light
Board it 'till it shines!

YEEEAAAAHHH!!

The foolish eyes went sucking!
Their freaking mom's deceived!
There lies, in May, a change for Drew...
Became all that they believe
"They chased the anchor up, Duvall!"
Faulty image, I'm fully man!
Watch that creature rap about Cle Elum
The image where the thought is armed!

The heavens wade in silence, for the coming of the air
As man perfects his own imperfection
Destruction closes in...

(solo!)
YEEAAAOOOWWW!!!

Egg! Fog!
Cremate souls to make their beds!
NO!
All that they've created comes crashing!
Toe! Toe! Toe! Toe!
Toad upon their heads!
TONGUE!!! HIS WAITER!!
(yay, solo!)

You're not sour!
That hour! Shuffle!

I saw a bald eagle fishing in Moses Lake's mud puddles yesterday. (Mud puddles because the lake is down so far that you can see the bottom.) He flew away with a large fish in his talons. You know our nation is in a depression when our national bird is forced to eat carp out of muddy Moses Lake!
