Dear Pride,

You and I have seen a lot of years together
As you know, I have such strong feelings for you
You make my heavy load a bag of feathers
You always seem to know just what I want to do

But things are changing now and we cannot go on
Your temporary fixes have been weighing me down
Every single road you lead me ends up so wrong
You run me off the path and crash us into the ground

You know how much I love you, it hurts to let you go
But I really must consider what is best for myself
Your mansion is so very beautiful, I know
But there’s more to consider in life than your wealth…

If you have any questions about our parting ways
You can find me with Humility, a friend with whom I’m staying
We’re in a modest little home, in which he often prays
So if you come by, please wait and don’t interrupt our praying.

I know this really hurts, please forgive me for this letter
Forgive me for your broken heart and turning away
But I honestly believe that all of this is for the better
I’m sure there are many other people with whom you can stay

And so this is goodbye, now let’s go our separate ways
It’s best you do not visit me or contact me at all
I must ask that we forget each other every time I pray
So please be kind and stay on your own side of the wall

Okay, I’m really going now, these are my parting words
Don’t think of me, I’ll be just fine, and even if I cry
I have new friends to comfort me, and help me to move onwards
So this is it, I’ll take my leave, and say no more—goodbye.

Sincerely, Brian

I love searching for jobs! It's so invigorating! Just kidding. Maybe I'll draw a picture of some samurai today.

So, here in Moses Lake, we've had people shooting out store windows with a BB gun around town. Last June, there had been about 100 shot out, I think, so by now there have probably been up to a thousand or more. Needless to say, the town is quite riled up about the whole thing, and the police are fed up with it as well. They held a meeting a couple days ago, and shared some of their info and plans. They said the shooters are suspected to be somewhere between 16-19 years old, not little teenagers or gangs. They apparently have spies on all the gangs, and teenagers can't keep secrets this long, so had it been one of those, they would have caught them by now. Furthermore, they have assigned people on the lookout, undercover, and they have officers posted at strategic spots, staking out places that get shot on a regular basis. The whole thing would be quite humorous if it wasn't so offensive and inconsiderate. Humorous because they can't seem to catch them, and it's been like a year or more now. If you look at it from the bad guy's perspective, it might be kind of thrilling to be the town shooter, always evading the cops.

...not that I advocate what they're doing or anything...

And now it's time for a song!

This is one I wrote. I apologize for the lack of decent sound quality.

Verse 1:
Hundreds of feet of concrete beneath our feet
As we walk across to the other side
Such a barrier, parting the river
Damming up the water as it stands with pride
We walk
Hand in hand, just her and I
With the sounds of the water like cannon fodder
Crashing below as we walk so high
We lean against the rail, just her and I
She said,
"Let's fall, let's descend to the water below
With this wall between us as we feel time slow!"
I asked why, she said it was something that she needed to do....

Chorus:
She said, "Let's feel the wind against our faces
And plunge to our seperate places
When the water rushes through, dear, I'll meet you
And hold you on the other side

Let's feel the wind against our faces
And plunge into our seperate places
So just say goodbye, and imagine you can fly..."

Verse 2:
One embrace and a single kiss goodbye
We step over the ledge and begin to fly
Such a barrier, between her and I
I feel the wind and begin to cry
We fall
So long and I feel so alone
With the sounds of the water like cannon fodder
Crashing below as I wipe my eyes
Such a lonely abyss and I wondered why
She said,
"Let's fall, let's descend to the water below
With this wall between us as we feel time slow!"
I'd asked why; she said it was something that she needed to do....

Chorus:
She said, "Let's feel the wind against our faces
And plunge into our seperate places
When the water rushes through, dear, I'll meet you
And hold you on the other side

Let's feel the wind against our faces
And plunge into our seperate places
So just say goodbye, and imagine you can fly..."

So I felt the wind against my face
As all my emotions interlaced
All the joy of the freedom I felt
Mingled with the pain this fall had dealt
And I
Closed my eyes, and as my tears began to dry
I imagined I could fly...!

I wish Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton had done more together. I watched Limelight last night, but they only had one scene together, and while it was pretty funny, they were both rather old and the stunts they could do were limited. It would've been better if they had done a whole film together in their younger years. Oh whale.

I had a weird dream about being in a Wal-Mart, which turned into a hospital, and I got stuck in an elevator that crashed, so I went through the ceiling into a large room, and I had to bust out like prison, and I turned into a flying person, and there were these bad guys shooting shotguns at other flying people, so I pushed one dude's gun aside so he'd miss, but it hit a baby and deformed its face, and I don't know...it was messed up.
